1. Modified National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (MNAIS): With a view to make the crop insurance more farmers’ friendly, government replaced National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS) by Modified National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (MNAIS) , a New Insurance Scheme For Agriculturists .

2. States gets another six months for implementation of national foodsecurity act( i.e. till 04.04.2015 ). The National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA) is deemed to have come into force on 05.07.2013. It inter alia provides for a period not exceeding 365 days to the States/Union Territories (UTs) for identification of eligible households for receiving foodgrains at subsidized prices under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS). Allocation of foodgrains to 11 States/Union Territories (UTs) namely, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Rajasthan has started under the Act based on the preparedness and identification of beneficiaries for coverage under the Act, reported by them. An additional three months time was given to these States/UTs to complete the identification exercise and start implementation of the Act, which has been further extended by another six months, i.e. till 04.04.2015.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has received proposal from the Indian Banks Association (IBA) to limit free transactions through Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) for both their own and other banks customers. This will apply for transactions done at ATMs located in six metro centres only, namely Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

10. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has stated that based on information provided by National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE), 1641 companies are listed (equity shares) on NSE as on November 21, 2014. These companies, in accordance with the provisions of Section 149 of the Companies Act, 2013 and Clause 49 of the Equity Listing Agreement, are required to appoint at least one woman director, on or before March 31, 2015.

India and Nepal signed 10 agreements during Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Nepal in SAARC summit. It includes five agreements and five memorandum of understandings (MoUs).

• Agreement on extending Line-of-Credit of 1 billion US dollar by India

• Motor Vehicle Agreement (MVA)

• Twin City Agreement between Ayodhya – Janakpur

• Twin City Agreement between Kathmandu – Varanasi
