1. National Child Awards: The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee presented the National Child Awards for Exceptional Achievement 2014 to give recognition to children with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievement in various fields.

2. Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Awards 2014 : is presented to individuals for their outstanding contribution towards service for
children.

3. National Awards for Child Welfare 2013: is presented to institutions and individuals for their outstanding performance in the field of child development and welfare.

4. India the largest gold consumer: India pulls ahead of China as the largest gold consumer in the world.

5. Executive Committee on Climate Change : The first meeting of the reconstituted Executive Committee on Climate Change (ECCC) was held in New Delhi. The Committee reviewed the progress made by the eight National Missions under the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC).

7. IITF: The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee
inaugurated the 34th India International Trade Fair 2014 today (November 14, 2014) at New Delhi.

8. Hand in Hand 2014: India-China joint training exercise ‘Hand in Hand 2014’ to begin at Pune from November 16.

9. Prithvi-II missile: indigenously developed nuclear-capable Prithvi-II surface-to-surface missile, which has a strike range of 350 km was test fired at BALASORE(Odisha). It is capable of carrying 500 kg to 1000 kg. it is the first missile to be developed by DRDO under India’s prestigious Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP)

10. Maharashtra plans to launch a Rs 4,000 crore satellite imaging project to map all land in the state. The entire state land data will be computerised and available online.

11. Everyone who entered India prior to December 31, 2009, can now apply for Indian Citizenship. Govt has proposed to Grant of Indian citizenship to minority community nationals of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

12. Rohit Sharma becomes the highest scorer in an ODI inning with a mammoth score of 264 against Sri Lanka. He is the only cricketer to smash two double centuries in ODIs – the previous being 209 against Australia at Bangalore in November 2013. Other double centurion in ODI: Sachin Tendulkar (200) and Virender Sehwag (219).

13. Ambassadors for ‘World Cup 2015’: International Cricket Council appoints five cricketers as its ambassadors for the ‘World Cup 2015’ to be held in Australia and New Zealand. They are: Virat Kohli, Kumar Sangakkara, Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson and Brendon McCullum.
